Big news for It’s Mental!

Leading Difference Makers

It’s been a big week here at IT’S MENTAL and we could not be prouder!  Amelia has been named among Canada’s 150 leading Difference Makers in Mental Health & Addictions advocacy.  CAMH received over 3000 nominations back in the spring and have been rolling out an inspiring list of difference makers throughout the month – here are four amazing NL-ers on the list:

We are thrilled to have had a chance to meet some of our new allies in Halifax yesterday, and hoping for some great new partnerships to form on the road to real change in our system, all the way across Canada.

But WAIT . . . (there’s more)

The Government of Newfoundland & Labrador has put our Mental Health & Addictions Recovery Council in place, appointing fifteen advocates and experts across the province to help guide the progress of the Towards Recovery report that was released by the All Party Committee back in June.  Amelia Curran is among the appointees.

So, as we’ve stated before – Let’s do this.  We can change the system.
